Please avoid buoy near middle of Lake Attitash

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in cooperation with the University of New Hampshire Center for Freshwater Biology is monitoring water quality in Lake Attitash as part of an ongoing study. To do this, they have placed temperature sensors and other types of instruments near the center of the lake. These instruments are marked by a buoy, which is lighted to make it visible at night. This equipment will remain in the lake until sometime in September.

The association requests that boaters, water skiers and fishermen avoid this buoy to prevent damage to or loss of the attached equipment and to help assure the success of an important research project.
