Some fun news for Lake Attitash wild life fans!

Bob Prokop walks the old Indianhead Park (the closed Merrimac beach area) regularly with his dog. He found dozens of broken turtle eggshells strewn around the beach. Raccoons and skunks had been digging up and eating the turtle eggs. With his nieces and nephews he launched a rescue mission.

They carefully dug through the nests to find the remaining eggs and placed them in an old washing machine drum filled with sand and waited for hatching day.

Enjoy the photos of smiling faces and the successful release of over 30 baby turtles!

Thank you Bob for the wildlife story.
