Illumination Night and Boat Parade
The LAA held another successful Illumination Night and Boat Parade on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. The Grand Marshalls for this year’s Boat Parade were Mayor Gray and Councilor McMilleon from Amesbury. Both were instrumental (along with the Merrimac Selectmen) in raising the $240,000 matching funds needed to be able to apply for a $360,000 grant to deal with the lake’s cyanobacteria problem. There were over two dozen boats in the parade and a large number of “Illumination” parties going on around the lake. The weather was great and it was a fun night for all. Pictures of some of the boats can be found by clicking on the “photo” icon on the LAA home page and going to the on the “Boat Parade” section when it opens. If you have other pictures to add, please send them to the association. Thanks.
