I have worked in watercolor for many years. My art has been exhibited in the Boston area, and beyond, including exhibits in Italy and Japan. For the past 25+ years I have been associated with the Kaji Aso Studio in Boston and regularly exhibit there. Because of this association, a Japanese influence is present in my art. I am intrigued by light and color and inspired by nature. Much of my art focuses on light: a sunset reflected in clouds on a lake’s surface, or stars and planets glowing against an ebony sky. I enjoy painting the moon with its soft glow creating a lane of light along the water. Images of outer space fascinate me; I create works of galaxies, nebula and the aurora borealis. Because of my interests in gardening and birdwatching, birds, flowers and garden landscapes are often subjects of my art. When possible, I enjoy painting outdoors, or plein air.

Poetry is another of my interests. I am a former Amesbury Poet Laureate and currently the Poet in Residence at Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center.
